It's going to be horrific, my brain nearly imploded whilst watching the trailer.

I don't know, I think he is going to make an awesome Sherlock. He's not a clean cut good hollywood boy, he's rough. Doesn't hurt that he's gorgeous. What I have a problem with is Jude Law as Watson. Does anyone think he is just a little too fake for liking? Shocked

I think Downey is a good actor but is miscast as Holmes. From what I've seen in the trailers it's akin to the American made Godzilla movie they made several years ago. They thought they'd give a new take on Godzilla. But their Godzilla wasn't Godzilla! It was a giant mutated Iguana and the film flopped. By the same token, I think the new SH movie producers are banking on the Sherlock Holmes name as a draw (just like the Godzilla guys did with Godzilla) and are giving us a new take on Holmes. But Downey's Holmes is not Holmes -he's a smart ass adventurer! I think it will flop.
I'd rather spend my money aquiring the soon to be released British tv Sherlock Holmes episodes starring Peter Cushing, and "A Study in Terror" with John Neville.

It was awesome. Smile

I got tickets for a christmas present, and I had a really nice time. Can't wait for it to come out on DVD.
